CALLING ALL SCALLYWAGS: Seeking Toronto Actors to lead nighttime escape rooms on a Pirate Ship!
Pirate Life Theatre is seeking Clue Staff for our Toronto location’s edition of Escape The Ghost Ship, an escape game set aboard a moving pirate ship. Staff will portray a pirate, leading groups of up to 18 players through an hour-long adventure. Ideally, staff will also be willing to cross-train as a ship’s captain, driving our boat as well as operating the game’s soundtrack.
We at Pirate Life celebrate diversity and fight for inclusive representation on our stages and in our community. We encourage submissions from artists of all backgrounds regardless of race, gender, national origin, age, religion, disability, sexual orientation, gender identity, or gender expression.
We are looking for pirates who embody our motto: “All hands on deck!” We value initiative, teamwork, adaptability, dependability, and positivity.

Comfort with character improvisation
Facility explaining game rules and mechanics

If you’ve worked in immersive theatre or in an escape room, we’d love to hear about it- but there are many skill sets that can play into working as Clue Staff, so help us understand how your work experience, life experience, or interests will make you a great fit for this job.

Explain a game, or part of any game (max 90 seconds). This can be a high-level rundown of a complex game, a more detailed dive into a very simple game, or even a laser-focus on a particular rule or mechanic of a game (e.g. “icing” in hockey, or the robber in Catan). We want to see how you handle technical language in character.
