PIRATE LIFE IS PROUD TO PRESENT THE FIRST EVER…

Yo ho ho there mateys! Pirate Life Ottawa invites you to join us for our 1st annual Ottawa Pirate Fest on June 8th, 2024 at Mooney’s Bay. We will have fun family friendly pirate themed activities throughout the day and crafty local vendors on site. 

Learn how to sword fight with pool noodle swords, bring your lunch and picnic with a pirate, see a fantastic puppet show, make pirate flags, get your face painted, compete in our pirate costume contest, and more!

This outdoor event is for pirates of all ages and admission is free!

10:15 AM - Outdoor Toddler Time with Jesse Kahat of Toddler Tuesdays at the NAC

  • Jesse will be leading an outdoor version of her highly successful Toddler Tuesday program that has run weekly at the National Arts Centre since 2017. The class is around 45 minutes long and includes songs, games, dancing, stories, and musical instrument play. Perfect for children ages 1 - 5 years and the adults who love them.

11:15 AM - Pirate Puppet Show by Puppets on the Run. ~15 minute run time.

11:30 AM - Pirate Costume Contest

12:00 AM - Picnic with a Pirate

2:00 PM - Sword Fighting Demo with Marlow Stainfield of Chris Marlow Liv's Theatre Company

  • A dashing sword fighting demonstration and then any brave young pirates will be invited to take part in a few rounds of pool noodle sword fighting. 

3:00 PM - Pirate Puppet Show by Puppets on the Run. ~15 minute run time.

3:45 PM - Pirate Olympics

EVENING

5:30 PM - Landlubber Comedy with Velvet Wells of Velvet Duke Productions

  • Join The Velvet Duke and their Mighty Mates on the shores of Mooney's Bay. Let them hoist your spirits with spontaneous audience inspired games and scenes. This early evening comedy show is all ages so no one has to walk the plank! Pay What (booty) You Will when we pass the pirate hat

6:30 PM - Sea Shanty Sing-a-long with Owen McGowan

  • A chance for those that love to sing to join our musical crew members in the singing of sea shanties both old and new. Singing and/or musical talent not required. All are welcome to hang out and enjoy the music. 

7:30 PM - Improv Show with Carleton Improv Troupe

  • The Carleton Improv Troupe will finish off the evening with pirate themed tomfoolery as they play interactive improv games and are sure to have everyone laughing.
