Art & Water
An immersive art gallery experience and boat tour
This is a call to artists, It’s been too long without galleries, and without spaces to create that exist outside your four walls. Introducing Art & Water, presented by Pirate Life, a paid artist residency program that invites you, to mold the foundations of the first ever immersive art tour & boat cruise.
The Project
Create an immersive experience on 3x pontoon boats in Toronto’s Harbour, photos below!
Explore a concept with us and then bring it to life by designing/decorating/staging the boat.
Examples
Ride the Rainbow: Imagine you step onto a super colourfull boat, from the floor to the walls everything is a different stripe, the seats are colourful bean bag chairs, and infaltable unicorns, this is your eclectic ride around the harbour!
1920’s Child’s room - the walls have pineapples on them, rocking chairs for seats, and old timey photos are plasterd on every corner
Nature Concept: The boat is covered in foliage, plants, flowers, insects cover it from tip to toe, the floor a grassy bed and the seats, yup, those are real tree trunks.
How it works
$3500 paid to the artist, as a salaried employee.
$1000+ budget for materials depending on the concept
