This is a call to artists. It’s been too long without audiences, without performances and without spaces to create that exist outside your four walls. Introducing Art & Water, presented by Pirate Life, a paid artist residency program that invites you to rehearse, create and perform dockside with us this summer.

What? Here’s the deets.

Paid Dockside rehearsals/performances open to the public.
$150 for a set per artist (up to 4 artists / band) ( 1 hour)
$300 for 3x 45 minute sets over 3 hours.
Once a week. May to October (Paid as an employee)

Spring May 27th to June 25th.
Weekdays Evenings
Weekends Evenings
Summer June 26th to September 6th
Evenings, 7 days a week 5pm to 10pm.
Autumn
September 7th 1st to October 11th.
Weekdays anytime, 9am-10pm
Weekends evenings, 5pm-10pm

Why?

  • Because we love art and artists and this is our way of supporting the arts community!

  • Because we like art. You like art. We all like art. And… the Federal Government is helping us cover the costs via the wage subsidy program.

  • We are also trying out a new pop-up dockside patio and bottle shoppe that will support local breweries and would love to have you be a part of it!


Tech Specs
- the vessel is equipped with a 300 watt inverter at 28.5 amps that will allow for plug in of some equipment, amp, speaker, etc. Your power consumption must not exceed this amount.

  • The vessel is 50 feet long, 12 feet wide.

  • You will have access to a Yorkville EXM Mobile 12,

  • BYO Amps and microphone


How does it work?

Submit your statement of interest below, we’ll assemble a crew to review submissions and start scheduling artists!

Covid-19 Safety Protocols
Physical Distance will be required between artists and masks are to be worn when physical distance is not possible.
Artists will rehearse/perform on the ship, the ship is at the dock, audiences/passerby’s are invited to the dock, or on the shore.
Sanitizer is available and to be used regularly

Voici les détails:

Répétitions / performances payantes, ouvertes au public, en soirée, au quai, de mai à octobre. 

              150$ pour un spectacle (1h) 

              300 $ pour 3 séries de 45 minutes (3h).

              Une fois par semaine. Mai à octobre (rémunéré en tant qu'employé)

Parce que nous aimons l'art et les artistes, et c'est notre façon d’encourager les arts dans la communauté!

Parce que nous aimons l'art, vous aimez l'art, nous aimons tous l'art! Et… le gouvernement fédéral nous aide à couvrir les coûts via le programme de subventions salariales.

Spécifications techniques

- Le navire est équipé d'un inverseur 300 watts à 28,5 amps qui permet de brancher de certains équipements, ampli, haut parleur, etc. Votre consommation électrique ne doit pas dépasser ce montant. 

  • Le bateau mesure environ 50 pieds de long et 12 pieds de large. 

  • Vous aurez accès à un Yorkville EXM Mobile 12 

  • Amenez votre propre amplificateur et micro

Protocoles de sécurité Covid-19

Le 2m sera requis entre les artistes et les masques doivent être portés lorsque la distanciation n'est pas possible.

Les artistes répètent / jouent sur le navire, le navire est au quai, le public / les passants sont invités au quai ou sur le bord de l’eau. 

Un désinfectant est disponible et est à utiliser régulièrement

AT THE DOCK

Bring your own show and use the Pirate Ship for free! Our venue is a great opportunity to showcase your work outdoors in a space that is completely free!

Available May to October, nightly from 6pm.

CO-PRODUCTIONS

Pirate Life is Children's Theatre with a seasonal attendance of 10,000 patrons from May to October.

We're looking to partner with enthusiastic artists and producers to produce works for young audiences together on our venue!

SAILING

Take advantage of our ridiculously low artist rates to charter the boat and program a sailing performance!

A new initiative piloted in 2017 to rave success! A unique experience for your patrons and the added value of a sunset cruise allows the artist a higher admission and therefore a higher revenue!
